Â
Hello .
Â
Our weather has been amazing lately, but really scary too.
We had less than 30% of normal snowpack, which means no water and no reserves for the summer.
The "mighty Fraser River" which is the main river system that flows from northern British Columbia to the ocean in the south, is dry! Â In Prince George which is mid-north of the province, has unprecedented dry river bottom to the point that you can walk across the river. At this time of the
year the Fraser River system is usually flooding and causing issues for lots of people along it's river banks with high water levels and ice flow jams.Â
But not this year, and to tell you the truth, I am scared.
Scared we will run out of water
Scared we will have a terrible fire season again, and no water to fight fires
Scared for our extended families who live in all areas of our province.
And scared for Vancouver Island (where we live) because we already have low water levels.
Nothing we can do, exept for pray for rain.
We usually have so much rain at this time of the year that going outdoors is not pleasant. But today I had to water the 9 pansy plants I planted last week because they were all wilting.
Please, pray for rain for all the places that are in desperate
need.
