Hello .

Oh what a wonderful long weekend Hubby Ted and I had.

On Saturday we drove to the west coast of Vancouver Island to a small campground called Pachena Bay. The road there used to be gravel as it's a logging road. The trip would take 2.5 to 3 or more very bumpy hours.

But a couple of years ago it was seal coated and the trip is very enjoyable now. And others have found this as well. It was very busy, but there were few people on the beach (see pictures below).

Then on Monday we headed to Tofino, one of our Happy Places, for the afternoon. We decided to wait until later in the afternoon to let all the long weekend tourists depart. And that was an amazing decision. We got Tacofino tacos and gringas and headed to our favourite spot on Mackenzie Beach. There were about 20 people in total on the beach, and it was amazing. I always walk the whole length of the beach at least once, and this time was no exception. And every time I walk it, I find a sand dollar. Yup I did this time too. It was a little beat up, but there none the less. This is always a sign to me that the beach is welcoming me back. I will include a couple of pictures from that beach as well, below my signature.
